We're unabashed Jordan I fans at Piff. From Breds to Shadows to Royals to TEDxPortlands to Shanghais, we love em' all. They're in our rotation be it summer or winter, and we'll throw them on with just about anything.
Recently we got to thinking: which Jordan I's don't get enough love? There's a lot of great pairs that have flown under the radar for some reason or another, so we figured we'd compile the 5 most slept-on pairs in one list. Pay attention: we're about to put you on to some gems.
How were the Melos not an immediate hit? We know that most purists don't like a Jumpman on the heel, or anything but "Nike Air" on the tongue tag, but is that really enough to get you to pass up on a super-clean black and gold I? If you can put those small touches aside you're left with a great, vibrant sneaker.
No 30th anniversary Lasers on this end (even though those were a solid shoe as well). The 08' Laser I's featured rich laser detailing, a unique colorway, and a gum sole to top it all off. Mid 00's us loved these ... current day us wants a re-release ASAP.
3. "Family Forever"-2014
The Family Forevers had everything a sneaker needs to be a hit: a great backstory (inspired by MJ's kids). Attention to little details. A solid, extremely wearable colorway. They just didn't sell upon release for whatever reason. Thankfully, you can still find pairs for around retail today. Better late than never, right?
YEAHHHHHH. IT'S GUCCI!! (ice cream emoji). We're sorry. Just had to get that out of our systems. Gucci Maine jokes aside, the Gucci I's were a terrific shoe. Paying homage to the legendary Italian luxury house with their colorway, they prove that imitation is truly the sincerest form of flattery.
1. "Cyber Monday"-2015
The Cyber Monday I's are not spectacular by any stretch of the imagination. They're not a head-turner, and they're not flashy. What they are is an extremely clean and wearable shoe that any Jordan I lover can easily work into their rotation, and that's what earned them the #1 spot on this list. Sometimes less is more.
